The CM-8801FN is an entry-level Fe/NFe dual-mode coating thickness gauge built for fast, everyday plating and paint checks. One integrated probe auto-detects ferrous and non-ferrous substrates, so you can measure steel, aluminium, copper and stainless surfaces without switching modes. FAQ

What is the difference between Fe and NFe?

Fe is for magnetic substrates (iron, steel) using magnetic induction; NFe is for non-magnetic substrates (aluminium, copper, stainless steel) using eddy current. The gauge detects the substrate and selects the principle automatically.

How thick can it measure?

Up to 1250 μm (about 1.25 mm), covering common platings, paints, anodizing films and anti-corrosion coatings, with mil display (0–50 mils) as well.

How do I switch between μm and mil?

One-touch unit switch — μm for domestic engineering habits, mil for imperial markings (1 mil = 25.4 μm).

What is the smallest area the probe can measure?

Minimum measuring face diameter is 17.9 mm; it can still seat on edges, steps and narrow gaps.
