FAQ

What is the difference between IPS3005 and an ordinary DC power supply?

It has a built-in 25000-count True RMS multimeter, so one unit both powers the circuit and measures voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode and continuity. No second instrument needed on the bench.

Which power inputs does it accept?

Three: external DC 9–36 V, USB-C PD fast charge, and 4×18650 cells fitted inside. The battery is optional and not included — it must be purchased separately.

Is the battery included? Can the unit charge it?

No, the battery is not standard and must be bought separately. Once 4×18650 cells are fitted the unit charges them (16.8 V pack, up to approx. 30 W from PD input); without cells it runs from DC or USB-C PD input.

What is the maximum output power?

180 W (36 V × 5 A), limited in practice by the available input power. For continuous full-load operation a 25 °C ambient is recommended to keep output stable.

Can I set the protection thresholds myself?

Yes. OVP 0–36.99 V, OCP 0–5.100 A, OPP 0–180.99 W, OTP 0–99 °C and LVP 8–36 V are all adjustable in the system menu. When a limit trips the output is cut and the event is logged.

Can it log data to a computer?

Yes. Connect by USB to the PC host software or by Bluetooth to the phone app (Bluetooth DMM V2) for remote control and curve logging. Up to 100 multimeter records are stored and can be exported as .txt.
