FAQ

What is the difference between HT256D and HT160D?

The difference is in IR resolution and fine detail. HT256D has a 256×192 detector with 12 μm pixels and 3.43 mrad IFOV for a finer image; HT160D uses 160×120 with 17 μm pixels and 5.31 mrad. Temperature range, accuracy, four image modes and battery are shared. Choose HT256D for finer resolution on distant or small targets; choose HT160D for budget-first routine inspection.

How far away can it measure temperature?

The recommended measuring distance is 0.3~3 m (settable in the menu). With 3.43 mrad IFOV, each pixel covers a larger real-world area as the target moves away. Move closer for small targets such as a single wire or terminal, or use the optional macro lens YRI256-WJ to keep accuracy on close-up objects.

Can I see the thermal and visible image at the same time?

Yes. The 2 MP visible camera supports fusion mode (thermal overlaid on visible) and picture-in-picture mode (a thermal window nested in the visible view), so hot-spot location and component outline appear on the same screen.

How do I set the emissivity?

Emissivity is manually adjustable from 0.01 to 1.00, with a built-in common-emissivity reference table (e.g. skin 0.98, red brick 0.95, white paper 0.93). Match the emissivity to the target material for the most accurate reading.

How long does the battery last and how is it charged?

The built-in 3200 mAh battery runs about 7 hours and charges to full in ≤4 hours (≤1.5 W device power). It charges over Type-C with the standard 5V/2A adapter, and the device can also be read as a USB drive to transfer photos and videos.
