Earth resistance tester
The ET-234A is a portable high-performance digital earth resistance tester. In addition to 2-wire and 3-wire methods, it adds 4-wire earth resistance measurement and a dedicated low-resistance continuity mode for bonding checks. It also measures earth voltage, PV string voltage up to 1500V DC and AC voltage up to 750V, making it suitable for substations, lightning protection systems, transmission towers, railway tracks and industrial grounding networks where higher accuracy is required.

FAQ
What is the difference between ET-234A and ET-23?
ET-234A adds 4-wire earth resistance measurement and low-resistance (Lo Ω) continuity mode. The 4 Ω range resolution reaches 0.001 Ω for higher-precision work.
What is the advantage of 4-wire earth resistance measurement?
4-wire measurement separates current and voltage sensing paths, eliminating the effects of test lead and contact resistance.
When should I use the Lo Ω mode?
Use Lo Ω to check bonds, clamps and conductors from 0.00 Ω to 120.0 Ω. The ≥ 200 mA test current is suitable for verifying continuity of earth electrodes and grounding conductors.
How does Rk lead compensation work?
Measure and store the residual resistance of the leads as Rk; the meter subtracts it automatically during earth resistance measurements.
What batteries does it use?
The ET-234A runs on 6 × 1.5V AA alkaline batteries, included in the standard package.
What is the auto power-off time?
Auto power-off occurs after 30 minutes of no operation.
